Life Goes On…

L…I…F…E !

Do we know what it actually means? Of course, NO. Life is a mystery which has a different map for each of us, to solve it and find the real treasure.

A question which often comes to my mind is have we ever thought what all our life comprises of? well, its simply made of incidents, experiences, failures, success and most important “people” who surround us.

People, who up to a great extent influence our life’s activities and actions, they come and go, add another chapter to our life, in some cases even teach us or simply just be there.

There is an Uncle who stays on the ground floor in my building with his family. He is a Police Officer. His wife and daughter are pretty nice and always greet with warmth. I although have never interacted with HIM, but have surely bumped into him while moving out, considering he stays on the ground floor.

However, dunno why but I feel he has a sunny side to his serious image as there is something about his face, which speaks volumes of his sweetness.

I promise the next time I meet or rather bump into him, will definitely greet him with if nothing else then for sure A Smile. I guess a smile should work to give a kick to our interaction. :)

Mom- “Rashi, you know, the uncle downstairs. He passed away 5mins back.”

Gaping at my mom at this sudden liberation of news, I felt as if something hard struck me. My smile which was about to reach his eyes a while ago, in no time bereft me. The smiling face of his daughter flashed in front of my eyes now covered in tears. Oh God, I wish I was not the one to listen to this news, but guess do we ever have an option?

I wish I made most of every time I bumped into him to interact with him, bet I would have loved to know a jovial and a nice human being.

It’s so typical of people to say “You can’t help it. He who had to go, has gone. No one can stop him. It’s all destiny. But LIFE has to GO ON…”

But while going too, YOU did teach me something Uncle. Life is short, so one must do everything when he has the opportunity and never wait… Life will Go On… but you never know, whether “You Will or Not”…

Wish, I had learnt this while you were here.

LIFE GOES ON….

Is it so simple?  Ever wonder?

Dedicated to Mr. UNCLE…

The Narrow Escape

“My Intro to Wildlife”  Continued…

We took for granted that the celebs of the jungle won’t mind our visiting their territory, so our gypsy headed for the jungle roads. Now of course as heard often, we somewhere in our mind had the feeling that Mr. Tiger would not easily meet us so giving a look was out of question. But then, the excitement of brushing shoulders with the wild trees, jungle roads and the wild atmosphere itself was gripping.

My cousin Nitesh, who has the in-built passion for photography, was more than excited as he just bought a new cam and what can be better than the wildlife photography. He almost covered the full jungle safari standing on the gypsy seat so that he doesn’t miss even a single view to capture through the lens.

Our guide fulfilling his duty as it can be said kept filling us with all the details of the jungle concerning the variety of birds, qualities of the animals and of course some hidden aspects too. Something strange engulfed me the moment we got the permit and entered the woods.

Dunno why, but those wild jungle vibes told me, that something awaited us”

I still can’t forget the sensation that ran through me all the way while loitering amongst the wild greenery on either side, capturing in my eyes all what came in. However, all way through wishing just to get one glimpse of the one and only, Mr. Tiger.

Well, I guess the jungleites got the news of our coming and so none of them came to visit us. We had to be contented with just a group of deer, some exotically beautiful birds and few pug marks here and there. But various stories of the tiger, the elephant and cobra by our guide kept our excitement level on the brim.

We soon came to know, that our jungle safari will have to be without any major animal, and so finally we headed towards the exit of the jungle.

Little did we know about the exit.

Just as we were about to leave the jungle premises, our gypsy was stopped by a group of elephants, who just happened to emerge from the right side of the road. Enthralled, we were jumping invisibly to be lucky enough to at least get the sight of a wild animal, be it just the elephant.

They were four in all where three seemed to be the kids who crossed the road and got lost in the jungle on the left. While the fourth elephant seemed to be either the mommy or the daddy considering its size was the last to cross the road, as if guarding its kids’ trail maintaining a distance from them.

Hardly did we know that our excitement would shoot up with leaps and bound in the next few seconds.

No sooner did the elephant emerged from the woods, instead of following the kids’ track, it started running towards our gypsy, which was just 15m away!

Don’t know what was running in every mind as we all (three of us, the driver and even the guide) were stunned and frozen with this sudden twist.

I remember our guide telling in nearly his every story that whenever an animal charge at you, the best option is to keep still and if possible even forget breathing.

I did the former as the latter didn’t strike me then or rather it wasn’t yet needed.

He also told us that often when wild elephants got mad or angry they kicked the gypsy like a football. Gulped!

It was difficult to imagine my gypsy flying in the air, with me don’t know stuck on a tree or else in the jungle somewhere.

These thoughts were struggling in our minds, making us unsure of what-next, while the elephant seem to be the only one sure that we were there to harm its kids.

Those kids which already were happy somewhere in the jungle!

I wonder even if we ever wanted to do any such thing, then we had already lost our chance, why is he mad now! Can’t he see his kids are already safe somewhere in the woods; it’s us now who are unsafe!

Bang! It was then when Nitesh had to do something silly. As expected. I guess it was the impact of the fear.

His foot gave way and he kind of slipped in the gypsy (thankfully, not outside, lolss) making a little noise.

I don’t blame him. He was standing on the gypsy seat to focus and click the elephant when it came on the road. Neither of us knew that it would start running towards us right away after stepping out of woods.

I bet, if the elephant came nearer he was thinking to duck inside the gypsy!

Well, this noise in turn seemed to send a negative vibe to the elephant and he trumpeted loudly. Reckon my heart skipped numerous beats and this was enough to glue each part of me to the gypsy. Not even a finger stirred.

God! I wonder if we all were thinking on same lines “What shall we do if the elephant caught our gypsy? Shall we run? But run where? In the jungle?” My mind jammed .

I didn’t even dare to see the expressions of my actual company. All I then knew that MY NEW COMPANY WAS A WILD ELEPHANT WHO WAS CHARGING AT MY GYPSY!

The distance was growing less with just 10m between us and what the elephant did next finally took us away.

It after trumpeting loudly, thumped his big huge foot on the ground, making a huge swirl of dust work like the special effects (even the animals can’t do without these), turned to the woods and vanished after its kids.

Leaving us stunned and perplexed but still glued.

It took us some seconds to realize that we were safe and in “one piece”. In fact what We did next surprised us more.

We gave out a laugh on what all just happened. I noticed that the white color of the teeth matched perfectly with all our faces. However, in spite of the blank face and mind somehow this lifetime experience automatically got imprinted.

It was truly hard to believe that we actually had A NARROW ESCAPE!

When found our voices, both Arpit n me hit Nitesh on his silly act of slipping. Poor him, now who won’t lose balance in such situations, he’s still a kid, just completed his schooling and besides having a New CAM.

Our guide however said just one thing,

“If this is the impact of just a wild elephant, we can’t even imagine the atmosphere and the feel if happen to meet a TIGER…”

P.S.- I would still love to meet you Mr. Tiger… :)

My Intro to WILDLIFE…

No sooner had we (my cousins-Arpit, Nitesh and myslef-Rashi) entered the woods my nostrils were filled with the smell of wet wood, which didn’t take much time to conquer my mind, heart and soul.

Mesmerized!

A strange, refreshing and at the same time You-Never-Know-What’s-Coming-Next feeling took over me. The cottage we booked for our Jim Corbett Wlidlife trip, in fact took me further to a whole new and different world. The small hut like set of cottages reminded me of the Nancy Drew Novels, mysterious but filled with great thrill and excitement.

My cottage with the no-brick roof blended well with the three sided brick standing. It outside was dressed with tegular roof while on the inner side it was all in cane. Well, whatever one says or rather as we all know, “Wildlife” undoubtedly is a world in itself.

And today, I was all set and ready to admire, be surprised and yes be a part of this unexplored world, which was unwrapping itself slowly in front of me like the sunflower for the sun. The trees, the pebbles, the river and the animals seemed to live in complete harmony.

It was just 12 in the afternoon, but I could listen to all kinds of different sounds of insects and birds which in the city are normally heard in the lap of the night.

This was all just…

So Natural and Admirable…

I have ever since known myself have known to be a secret admirer of Nature. But never thought, that even the Wildlife can be so exotic and enchanting.

Till date, wildlife to me was just limited to dogs, bear, elephants, wild cats and deers. Now, I know I was silly or it can be said that I just never gave a thought to what Wildlife actually Meant!

However today, in the midst of the trees and this naturally wild aura I open my arms to welcome and live the real Wildlife in the wildest way.

So, here I come Mr. Tiger, Mr. Leopard and of course Mr. Lion without forgetting the other important Mr.s

I hope you don’t find me trespassing on your property.

                                                                                                                         To Be Continued…

The Mesmerizing Rain…

The street was neat with just the usual traffic passing by where we both were talking a silent stroll returning from the office. The water droplets kissing my bare shoulders were running a chill down my spine. Not coz I felt cold, but I guess it was more coz of the rainy atmosphere, the light breeze and of course your company.

The wet street urged me for tapping my feet with it. I caught the hint and not able to resist myself anymore, I stretched my hand which joined us.

Surprised! Your eyes enquired silently about this sudden action and immediately saw the mischievous dancing figure in my eyes.

Your lips curled in a smile to join mine.

Your smile was all that was needed to trigger the child in me. And the next moment I was dancing with joy like a peacock, getting drenched like a tree and flying like a bird with arms open to absorb the blissful nature in its full beauty.

I took your left hand and placed it on my waist and saw a twinkle in your eye. Music was never an issue when more than two people it is two hearts which are dancing in rain. But in our case we were more like two children who forgetting everything were simply enjoying the present moment.

The rain pouring down looked like long cylindrical crystals shimmering against the black background bestowed by nature on the earth. The only difference being these crystals cannot be stored in material but only treasured in the memory.

With some basic moves from ball dance learnt from the movies, we started our romantic and subtle dance. Just stepping here and there we were humming ourselves and making naughty dancing moves. The rain seemed to be doing its work perfectly to create the atmosphere with the lightening clicking our invisible pic and the thunder roaring with us in laughter. It was a heart filling moment with just you and me on the street under the thundering black sky.

The yellow striped shirt you wore hugged you closely and made me envy it. Blush! (Now obviously it was just a momentary thought, as it flew as soon as it came. Reckon it just took my mind as a footrest to take a higher leap!)

You seemed to have seen this thought flying away as you instantly give me a round and took me by surprise. I landed in your arms.

Your muscles peeping from inside the wet shirt made a perfect pair with the swirl of my knee length frock in red with white roses printed on it. Lying in your arms and looking in your eyes was the best moment of the evening. Your smile made me break in a laughter which grew louder with your increasing smile. Our laughter mixed filled the air to create a sound which till date lives and laughs in my ears.

The Rain Gods, street, this wonderful atmosphere and You and Me, knew that it is not two lovers but two great Friends who were enjoying to live this moment to the fullest.

the Ramlila ground OR the Jallianvala bagh

64 years back, India finally got freedom at Midnight and became a DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY.

But last night!

Our Eyes Saw and Mind Read, an incident proving that we just live in a Democratic Country theoretically but practically we are still being ruled.

Ruled by Greed for POWER and MONEY.

As said and heard a plethora of times- “With Great Power comes Great Responsibility”. But, it seems that are Dear Government just abides by the word POWER where RESPONSIBILITY is used like a Prostitute.

It is said that history always repeats itself.

At the Ramlila Ground yesterday, where neither a terrorist, nor a naxalite, but a group of INNOCENT people were lathi-charged at the time, when half the world was dead.

Isn’t this right away corresponding to the great killing in the Jallianvala Bagh on the 13th April 1919? YES, IT DOES !

Where lays the difference between the British and Our Government then? Both are on the same track.

While the former lead by General Dyer opened fire, the latter used Lathi-charge, tear gas and burned the stage. And None of them Warned!

Is this a way to treat your own people? Using tear gas? Are WE “the common man” no different from a rioter or a miscreant?

What did the last night’s brutal action meant? Can’t anyone even protest against a subject which has been killing him? Yeah right, maybe he should become a terrorist at least he would work for his country.

It is always the INNOCENT who is being ASSAULTED, since ages and will still be in times to come.

It is high time Our Government realizes that history has started being repeated now. It will not be long when the Revolt of 1857 takes place again and you will be thrown out. There will again be the same rage and will to free our country from the clutches of slavery.

India will see great freedom fighters again. With the only difference that earlier the fight was against an outsider and this time it is against our own, but corrupt people.

This GUNDA RAAJ must come to an end.

I AM tired of, Seeing Corrupt, Listening Corrupt and Being Corrupt.

Speak Asia Online: Promising or Fraud

“Want to earn quick money and play in it within a fortnight? Join Speak Asia Online and earn thousands every month.”

This is what this so called “Survey Company” Speak Asia Online not said but meant through its advertising. Just by doing 2 surveys each week you can bag in a huge amount. All you need is a computer and an internet connection and the company promises to fill your pocket with 500 INR for each survey you complete. Isn’t that just wow!

Of course yes! Each of us would say that. And why not, just imagine with zero investment you are earning 1,000 INR per week with obviously 4000 INR per month. There isn’t a place on earth where you earn even a penny for free.

Well, you will be surprised to know that this amount further makes your pocket heavy with 52,000 INR just in a year. Oh no no, I haven’t made any mistake, my mathematics is perfect. Now I know you’re pondering that every year gives you just 12 months, which makes 48,000 INR, so why am I saying 52,000?

Tell me something, do you remember while in school you studied in accounts that a year also gives you 52 weeks? Aah, you got to eat almonds; it will improve your memory. So, my dear the untouched side is that you will earn not 48,000 but 52,000 INR. Aah! Ow you got it. So buddy when it is Money, look from all sides.

Great isn’t it? So what you waiting for, just log on to this site and get going.

Hey! Just a minute. I forgot to tell you something.

For getting surveys on your mail, you will have to get yourself registered with the company. Easy.

But there’s more.

For registering you need to shell out 11,000 only. That’s it.

Now you are ready to dig the gold mine.

By the way, did you give a thought to why the company is asking 11,000 for registration?

The company says that it has tied up with big organizations like Dabur, Airtel, Bharti etc. so that these groups get the exact and uninterrupted customer feedback.

Now there is a catch here. The organizations whom this survey company boasts to have tie ups with have on the contrary no clue about this venture. The surprises don’t end here.

In fact, this company “Speak Asia Online” says that it has the support from RBI too.

The hidden factor further is that once you get yourself registered, your account isn’t instantly activated for surveys. But its only after 1.5 months that the surveys are mailed to you. Now your 11,000 are stuck hence stuck for 1.5 months. However, if you want to recover your money, you will have to make hands under your account. Each hand will earn you 1000 bucks.

So either you by hook or crook make hands or wait for 5 months to recover your hard earned 11,000 INR.

But,

What about while you plan all this, if the company said a permanent goodbye to you without your knowledge?

Well, All I can say is Keep Smiling, no matter what comes.

Bole toh, Iss company mein solid chemical locha hai mamu!

Chala jaa raha hoon, na jane kahan

Chala jaa raha hoon, na jane kahan. Shayad apni talaash hai mujhe, Ya shayad kisi ka intezar.

Janu na, kaha hai meri manzil, kahan hai mera sansaar.

Chalta chala aaya hun mein ye kis gagan mein,  Koi bhi apna dikhe na ab iss aangan mein.

Thak gaya hun, ab bhi baat asaan kahan. Sochata hun thoda aaram kar lun,

Par nazaron ko thandi chaon bhi ab naseeb naa.

Door jitni bhi meri nazar gayi, door utni hi lagi mujhe woh duniya nayi.

Aaj sochta hun jab, toh yaad aate hain woh din,

Jab meine kho di apni khushi, apni neend, noton ke bandal gin.

Parinde bhi jaise, aate nahi iss raah,

shayad unhe bhi  hai maloom, ki  ho jaenge who yahan gumraah.

Sukhe ped, banjar zameen aur retili hawa, Jaise bole rahe hain ki na gaye tum wapas,

Toh reh jaoge yahan, kaid sadaa.

Duniya se aage bhagne ki chaah ne, tez raftaar ke badle maangi meri zindagi,

Aur aaj ussi zindagi ko phir khojne nikla hun mein.

Pata bhi janu naa tera,

Aye Zindagi, ab aur na tarsa.

Hun sharminda apni karni pe, daulat ab naa maangu mein. Jaan gaya hun,

mera ghar basta hai santushti ki gali mein.

Aah achanak yeh BAARISH ! Shayad,

Mana rahi hai jashna mere iss naye ehsaasa ka.

Ab toh chaon bhi hai aur araam bhi,

lagta hai jaise mil gaya meri manzil ka rasta, bas abhi abhi.

Iss nayi soch ne jab socha, toh khayal aaya

Na tha kisi ka intezar mujhe, na thi kisi ki talaash,

Shayad yeh hai ab ek nayi zindagi ka agaaz.

The Place where Happiness Stays

Smile, Happiness and Laughter, these three words urge me to think, does anyone know where to find them? I guess they too are rare to find now, just like our values and ethics. But do we really know where these three friends stay? Friends? Of course, they never come alone; the latter always accompanies the former.

Let’s read a short story before the answer to this.

There was a man, who no matter what all he did, could never make anyone happy. He was financially not stinking rich, but yes had good money. His children were studying in good school, wife had stock of gold (but still cribbing) and he had good reputation in society, but Happiness was nowhere to be felt. His never found happiness as he never looked inside him. He WAS contented, but because he always thought of satisfying his family’s needs, he was neither able to make them happy nor be happy himself.

Like us he also forgot that Happiness stays in the centre of our hearts. But we somehow have seem to forgotten the way to it. What is Happiness? Is it the smile when we see the huge amount of money in your bank account or is it the revenge which you took as your ego was hurt? NO. NONE OF THESE.

Happiness is the smile on a father’s face to see his child when he returns home after a hectic day. Happiness is when your daughter or son does something to make you feel proud. It is what the mother who just delivered her baby feels.

Happiness does not lie somewhere on the mountains or in the gold mines, but, “IT lies within YOU”. The key to Happiness is to be satisfied with what you have and what you are. Stop being greedy and curb your desire for more power and money. These have never been any human’s friend and neither they will be.

Stop slogging yourself like dogs to dig gold. Find time from your busyness and look around to admire your surroundings. Do you remember when the last time you bought flowers, had a sound sleep, and didn’t shout on your employee? Of course the answer is either the famous no or a long stretched Silence. No one wants to answer this. As we all know we are losing out on the petty but golden things in our lives.

The new definition of happiness lies in money, power and supremacy. but still let us all recall, Happiness is not the combination of some 17 muscles, but it is the combination of your Deeds and Satisfaction. It is the smile and laughter which we listen to when parents play with their kids. Making yourself or someone else happy isn’t through money, but it’s through altruistic conduct.

So SMILE and be HAPPY, as this is the second best thing you can do with your lips. :)

Happiness stays with us. Just give it some importance.
